Apple TV+ has officially announced its latest high-stakes crime drama, Parallax, based on the internationally acclaimed crime novels by Lars Kepler. This riveting 10-episode series brings together a powerhouse cast and crew, led by Tony Award winner Liev Schreiber, Emmy-nominated Zazie Beetz, and SAG Award winner Stephen Graham.
With an all-star lineup both in front of and behind the camera, Parallax is shaping up to be one of Apple TV+’s most anticipated originals yet.
A Chilling Tale of Crime, Family, and Survival
Parallax follows Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), a former soldier turned homicide detective seeking peace in a quiet Western Pennsylvania town. But his hopes for tranquility are shattered when his town and family come under siege by a cunning serial killer named Jurek Walter (Graham).
In a desperate bid to save the last known victim, Jonah enlists the help of his adopted daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Beetz), to confront the sadistic killer. As tensions rise and the stakes grow higher, Parallax promises an edge-of-your-seat experience exploring just how far a man will go to protect what he loves.
Creative Powerhouse Behind Parallax
Crafted by BAFTA Award winner Rowan Joffe (Tin Star, The Ballad of a Small Player) and John Hlavin (Shooter, The Man Who Fell to Earth), Parallax boasts a talented writing and production team. The series is set to be directed by Tim Van Patten (Black Mirror, Masters of the Air, Franklin), who will also serve as executive producer for the first two episodes.
Joining the production roster are executive producers Lars Kepler (the pseudonym for authors Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril), Øystein Karlsen, David Rysdahl, Dorothy Fortenberry, and Niclas Salomonsson. Zazie Beetz will also executive produce under her Sleepy Poppy banner, while Liev Schreiber takes on a dual role as star and executive producer.
The series is being produced by A+E Studios in association with Range Studios.

Job Description
Join the highly anticipated Apple TV+ thriller series Parallax, starring Liev Schreiber, Stephen Graham, Zazie Beetz, and Rory Culkin. Based on the best-selling Lars Kepler novels, the series follows an ex-soldier turned homicide detective whose quiet life is upended by a cunning serial killer. Production is seeking background extras of all ages to portray a wide range of characters throughout the season. Filming will take place from July through December in Pennsylvania.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray various background characters in dynamic scenes
- Participate in both indoor and outdoor filming setups
- Remain on set for full shoot days, with flexibility for extended hours
- Follow on-set direction from production and casting teams
- Be available for one or multiple filming days; core extras may be asked to return across several dates
Requirements
- All ages welcome; minors must be accompanied by a guardian 18+
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must provide own transportation to filming locations outside Pittsburgh, PA
- Flexible schedule between July 21–December 19 (excluding weekends)
- Comfortable working long shoot days (12–14 hours); minor hours will be shorter
Compensation
- $235 for a 12-hour guarantee
- Overtime pay applies after 12 hours
