A Heavy Burden is a powerful short dance film exploring guilt, escape, and emotional restraint. Set in Liverpool, this movement-based project centers around a woman’s fight for freedom from an emotionally cold marriage. The role of the Husband is key in shaping the contrast between confinement and liberation. This is a great opportunity for performers who are comfortable with physical expression and want to deepen their emotional storytelling skills.

This project welcomes actors of any race and prioritizes expressive body movement and emotional nuance over spoken dialogue.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray a stern, emotionally detached husband with restrained physicality

• Collaborate in movement-based scenes to convey psychological tension

• Participate in creative exploration of non-verbal storytelling

• Submit a short monologue as part of the audition process

Requirements:

• Male, any race

• Must be comfortable with movement and emotionally expressive performance

• Strong presence without the need for extensive dialogue

• Based in or able to work in Liverpool, UK

• Able to submit a short monologue video for consideration
