Darryl DeShawn

Born and raised in Chicago, IL, I am a multifaceted creative with a passion for storytelling and style. My journey in the entertainment industry began with various background roles in notable television shows, including *Empire* on Fox, *The Chi*, *Say My Name*, *Work in Progress*, *Proven Innocent*, and *Batwoman*. While these experiences were invaluable, I felt compelled to take my creativity to the next level by producing my own reality show, *MovinLA*. This project highlights my personal struggles and triumphs, shedding light on the mental challenges I faced behind the scenes and how I emerged from those dark spaces. *MovinLA* is a testament to resilience and self-discovery, and I am excited to announce its upcoming release. In addition to my work in television, I have a background in styling. My journey began with a unique project where I designed an entire clothing line for my cousin's Barbie dolls using fabrics from my grandmother's collection. This early experience ignited my passion for fashion and led to opportunities styling clients for music videos, interviews, television shows, and photoshoots. My hard work and dedication paid off when I had the chance to showcase my skills with 4 STAR CASTING, transitioning from background actor to featured roles. For years, I was known for my illustrations and styling, but my dream has always been to become an icon in the industry. I wear many hats, and this is just the beginning of my journey. I am excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead!
