Shawnia Yon

Shawnia Alexis Yon is a Queens-born performer with a dynamic background in dance, modeling, and acting. A recent graduate of Connecticut College, she brings a captivating presence to both stage and screen. She was a featured dancer in Social Media Influencer Cristian Dennis’s visual “HEATED ACT 1, and NY rapper Scar Lip’s music video “Fruity Pebbles” Shawnia has also performed in acclaimed concert works including Panorama with the Martha Graham Company at The Joyce Theater and City Center, and Ronald K. Brown’s Four Corners during his Evidence Dance residency. With extensive training in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, street jazz, musical theater, tap, and contemporary, Shawnia has refined her craft through elite programs like Broadway Dance Center, The Martha Graham School, Urban Dance League, and NYSSSA under Carolyn Adams. She recently earned the prestigious Richard Ellner Scholarship at Broadway Dance Center and performed at New York City’s Choreographer’s Carnival with choreographer, Miles Keeney. Shawnia is currently pursuing representation and is focused on booking tours, campaigns, television, and film. Her presence, professionalism, and passion make her a standout both onstage and in front of the camera.
