Daniel Flores
About:
Native Angeleno writer/performer raised on the eastside and eager to contribute to Latinx representation in the film industry in particular, but also any other adjacent industry in which such perspectives are lacking. After receiving my B.A. in Communications from Cal State Fullerton, where I graduated with honors and interned for a congressman and even taught for a semester, I started my professional life and amassed experience in the healthcare and tech industries, but said experience wasn’t satisfying; wasn’t substantial. What I proceeded to do was combine my technical skills with a love for the arts that I’ve been cultivating since grade-school: I’ve recently participated in projects on a small scale (acting in Tonia Willis’ ‘Remember’; P.A. work for Ken Duke’s currently in-production feature ‘The Day God Died’; script supervision for Dalia Lister on her recently completed ‘Three Day Notice’), large scale (Sony/Amazon lots in Culver City, W.B./Universal lots near Burbank, etc.), and even some reality-tv/improv work (courtshow litigant on ‘Equal Justice’ w/ Judge Eboni K. Williams’). I’ve also done, and still do, general creative work with local Latinx organizations like the Chicano Creative Society & Metzli Productions. Incubating talent and collaborating with other artists of color is a passion, and it’s my ultimate goal to facilitate paths to creative & meaningful work in the arts for people like us.
