Job Description
A student short film is casting a lead child actor for an outdoor story set around an isolated cabin and a mysterious forest. The project follows Malakai, a curious and energetic 10-year-old who becomes fascinated by the woods and the possibility of catching a bear. This is a character-driven role for a young performer who can bring imagination, warmth, and emotional truth to a cinematic coming-of-age mystery.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform as the lead child character in an outdoor narrative short film

• Work closely with the director to portray curiosity, wonder, and bravery

• Take direction well and maintain performance continuity across scenes

• Participate in physically active moments typical of outdoor storytelling

Requirements

• Male, age 10

• Black or mixed race

• Strong imagination, expressive presence, and ability to carry scenes

• Comfortable filming outdoors in a forest/cabin setting

• ACTRA production

Compensation

• Unpaid per ACTRA/IMU agreement for an 8+1 shoot day

• Overtime paid at 35% of the ACTRA IPA if incurred

• Travel and reimbursement not provided

Non-Union PSA – Casey House Commercial Filming in Toronto, ON

Job Description
A new non-union PSA for Casey House, a specialty hospital that provides care for people living with and at risk of HIV, is seeking talent for an inspiring campaign. The project will highlight compassion, awareness, and community support while bringing visibility to Casey House’s mission.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in the filming of a PSA that promotes HIV care awareness.

• Take direction on set and deliver natural, emotionally genuine performances.

• Be available for wardrobe fitting and shoot dates as scheduled.

Requirements

• Open to non-union talent, all genders and ethnicities.

• Must be available for at least one shoot day between November 11–13, 2025.

• Must be able to work locally in Toronto, ON.

Compensation

• Session Rate: $75/hr (up to 10 hours, OT at $50/hr).

• Fitting: $75 (2-hour session).

• Buyout guaranteed; rates vary by character.

• Usage: 1-year online (potential for donated broadcast).
