‘Wonder Woman’Director to Become Highest Paid Female Director in Hollywood

Date:

Wonder Woman has become the biggest movie of the summer with $402 million and counting, beating Marvel feature films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Patty Jenkins’ superhero story won over critics with its themes and strong acting performances, and it did the impossible by getting people to start respecting the DC Comics extended universe.

All the success with Wonder Woman has made Jenkins’ confirmation that she will direct the sequel especially interesting to watch. Warner Bros. announced at Comic-Con in July that the Gal Gadot-starring movie will arrive on December 13, 2019, but they did not say who will direct the movie. The director has been in negotiations with Warner Bros. over her salary, and it appears they are signing a huge paycheck to keep Jenkins around.

According to Deadline, Jenkins is close to a deal to direct Wonder Woman 2 for an undisclosed sum that will make her the highest paid female director in the industry.

The exact information is not public information yet, but it’s “in line with any other director who has performed at this level.” It is important to note that Zach Snyder made $10 million for his directorial efforts.
