Opening night of this festival, sponsored by The Klapper Family Foundation, promises to be a colorful affair. The first film is a drama named ‘A Real Pain’ by Searchlight Pictures. Jesse Eisenberg writes, directs, and stars in this feature, alongside Kieran Culkin. It tells a tale of two mismatched cousins traveling through Poland, honoring their beloved grandmother.

Centerpiece Film Details

On October 16, the Centerpiece Screening will feature the film ‘Small Things Like These.’ This film stars Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy in his follow-up performance to the film ‘Oppenheimer.’ The movie unfolds around a coal merchant who discovers shocking secrets about a local convent.

Festival Wraps Up with a Hit

Wrapping up the festival on October 20, the last film is ‘Emilia Pérez,’ an award-winning film from Netflix. The film features top-notch actors like Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz. Don’t miss out on this Closing Night celebration, again presented by The Klapper Family Foundation.

What Makes HIFF So Cool?

Honoring the Veterans

HIFF also celebrates industry veterans. Actor Craig T. Nelson and director Greg Kwedar will receive special recognition this year. Nelson is set to debut his feature ‘Green and Gold.’ Kwedar will also attend to participate in a special screening of ‘Sing Sing.’

More About the Screenings and Prizes

Every film at the festival will be screened in person with many also available virtually (within the U.S). The host venues will include Emagine Noblesville, Kan-Kan Cinema, Restaurant, Landmark Glendale 12, Living Room Theaters, and Newfields. Also, the festival will hand out more than $60,000 in cash prizes at an Awards Celebration.
