Job Description: We are casting for the role of Kano Oil, a country manager who appears slow but is actually very smart, in an upcoming audio drama. The drama centers around the multi-platinum 90’s rap group “Yo Momma’s Favorite Rappers,” whose success is threatened as the music industry shifts from physical album sales to digital streaming. Kano Oil is a complex character who might seem laid-back, but his sharp intellect is revealed as the story progresses.

Job Responsibilities:

• Voice the character of Kano Oil, a country manager with a seemingly relaxed demeanor who is actually quite clever and strategic.
• Capture Kano Oil’s dual nature — slow and easygoing on the surface, but with underlying intelligence and shrewdness.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure the voice acting reflects the character’s subtle complexities and personality traits.
• Attend voice recording sessions as needed, contributing to the overall tone and style of the audio drama.

Requirements:

• Prior voice acting experience is preferred, or a demonstrated ability to bring unique character elements to life through voice.
• Ability to portray a laid-back yet intelligent character, blending subtle tones of humor, cleverness, and calmness.
• Strong vocal range to ensure the character’s traits are communicated effectively.
• A demo reel or examples of prior voice work are highly preferred.
