Michelle Figueiredo

Michelle "Chellie Fig" Figueiredo graduated magna cum laude from Rider University with a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience, B.A. in Dance Performance, and a certificate in leadership. Michelle was a Mildred C. Hawkins Fine Arts Endowed Scholarship recipient and was selected to be in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2012/2013. Michelle was in four honor societies, one of which is the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Throughout college, she trained with American Repertory Ballet at the Princeton Ballet School, served as a member/choreographer of the Rider Dance Ensemble, and was the Vice President for the Rider Dance Team.      As a dancer/artist, Michelle is a former four-year veteran and two-year captain of the NBA’s Sixers Dancers. While representing the Sixers Dancers, she has performed internationally across China on an NBA China Tour (4x). Michelle was also selected to represent the Sixers Dancers on the NBA All Star Dance Team held in New Orleans, Louisiana (2014) and was invited back to perform at the NBA All Star Game in New York City (2015). She has also performed in many Philadelphia Fringe Festivals, in Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day Parade, local television channels, radio stations, and performed back-up for various artists. (Nico & Vinz, Vanilla Ice, Pharrell Williams.) Currently, Michelle is a freelance dance artist based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She continues to advance her performance career by dancing with A. Dance Theatre, ARTIST HOUSE/Asya Zlatina Dancers, and separately under Melissa Rector.      As a Dance Educator and choreographer, Michelle is a member of the National Dance Education Organization and a passionate faculty member at Koresh School of Dance, Philadelphia Ballet, ELEVATE Dance Competition and Impact Dance Adjudicators. As a choreographer, she enjoys traveling both domestically & internationally to work with different college programs, dance studios and dance teams. (High-school, collegiate, & pro dance teams.) Chellie has been awarded choreography awards at both regional and national dance competitions and her choreography can also be found internationally on ice, in which she choreographs for ice-dancing couples.
