About Alien: Romulus
Earlier this year, the announcement of Alien: Romulus created a buzz amongst fans. Fede Álvarez, known for his successful horror films like Evil Dead 2013 and Don’t Breathe, had pitched the idea to Alien franchise creator Ridley Scott. When Scott called him in late 2021 asking in he wanted to make an Alien movie, Fede jumped on board.
Steve Asbell, the president of 20th Century Studios, said they greenlit the project based on the strength of Álvarez’s pitch. The new narrative crafted by Álvarez and co-writer Rodo Sayagues is not connected to the other Alien films. Instead, it maintains continuity within the franchise.
