HBO’s upcoming series Lovecraft Country will film in Chicago, Illinois this summer 2018.
Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Black as he joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George as they go on a road trip across Jim Crow America during the 1950s as he searches for his missing father. This becomes a struggle to survive as they attempt to overcome racism in America. The show is based on a 2016 novel by Matt Ruff and is written by Misha Green.
Filming will begin shooting in Chicago, Illinois on July 16th and is expected to wrap on August 13th.
It will film in Chicago at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios as first reported by the ChicagoTribune.
White Boy Rick director Yan Demange is set to direct the pilot. Lovecraft Country’s cast consists of Elizabeth Debicki, Aunjanune Ellis, Jonathan Majors, Wunmi Mosaku, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Courtney B. Vance. The series is produced by Jordan Peele‘s Monkeypaw Productions, J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot, and Warner Bros. Television.
