Godfather of Harlem starring Forest Whitaker is now casting in New York City

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in New York City.

Producers are seeking the following types:

  • American men and women 18 and older for various ongoing roles throughout season. We are looking for good Malcolm X type followers and seperately also seeing downscale, junkie types. Seeking men and women willing to cut hair or grow hair if needed to properly portray these roles.

Forest Whitaker will star in the EPIX series Godfather of Harlem. According to Variety, “The series is titled “Godfather of Harlem.” It will tell the true story of crime boss Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who in the early 1960s returned after 10 years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy takes on the Genovese crime family to regain control. During the brutal battle, he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X, catching his political rise in the crosshairs of social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart.”

GWCI is casting 1960’s series titled “Godfather of Harlem” and seeking NONUNION African American men and women 18 and older for various ongoing roles throughout season. We are looking for good Malcolm X type followers and seperately also seeing downscale, junkie types. Seeking men and women willing to cut hair or grow hair if needed to properly portray these roles.
