Job Description
The beloved holiday musical Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! is seeking an actor to play Old Max for its upcoming non-union national tour. This is a virtual open call for a performer with strong acting and vocal ability to bring this iconic role to life on stage.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform the role of Old Max, narrating the story with warmth and charm

• Sing “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” with a bass speaking and singing voice

• Work collaboratively with the cast and creative team to deliver a heartwarming performance

• Travel with the production throughout the national tour schedule

Requirements

• Male-identifying performer, ages 30–50

• Any race/ethnicity welcome

• Bass speaking and singing voice (G2–E4) required

This comedic, high-energy role calls for an actor in their 30s who can balance physical comedy, emotional depth, and musical performance. The character is a funny, impulsive father of three who disguises himself as a nanny to remain close to his children.
