About the Project: “How I Got Here” is a unique television series that explores the rich cultural heritage of North American Gen Z individuals whose parents were born outside of Canada or the United States. Each episode takes a deep dive into familial and cultural celebrations, reuniting participants with significant people from their parents’ past. This show is about uncovering roots, understanding diverse cultures, and connecting deeply with personal histories.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in filming for one or more episodes, engaging actively in all planned activities.
- Travel internationally to explore cultural heritage sites, participate in traditional festivities, and meet with long-lost relatives or significant figures from your parent’s past.
- Share personal stories and reflections on cultural identity and experiences on camera.
- Be open to experiencing new environments, foods, and traditions.
Requirements:
- Aged between 15 to 25 years old.
- Must be North-American-born with at least one parent born outside of North America (Canada or the US).
- Comfortable with traveling and being filmed for television.
- Able to engage thoughtfully and articulately about personal and cultural identity.
- Available for international travel and filming schedules as required by production.
Compensation:
- All expenses paid for travel, accommodations, and meals during filming.
- A stipend/per diem will be provided for personal expenses during shooting days.
- Additional compensation details will be provided to selected participants.
