About NewFest & Netflix Partnership: NewFest, in collaboration with Netflix, is excited to announce the New Voices Filmmaker Grant for 2024. This initiative is dedicated to supporting emerging LGBTQ+ filmmakers. Our goal is to nurture new talent, assist in the creation of new works, and amplify their voices in the filmmaking community.

Job Responsibilities:

• Submit a complete grant application by the specified deadline.

• Provide a portfolio or examples of previous work demonstrating filmmaking skills and artistic vision.

• Prepare and submit an artist’s statement that reflects your unique perspective and voice within the LGBTQ+ community.

• Participate in mentorship and professional development programs if selected.

• Utilize grant funds towards the creation of new film work as proposed in the application.

Requirements:

• Identifying as an LGBTQ+ filmmaker.

• Demonstrable experience in film direction (short films, features, documentaries, etc.).

• A clear, unique, and compelling artistic vision.

• Strong storytelling abilities with a focus on LGBTQ+ themes and narratives.

• Ability to articulate creative ideas and perspectives through an artist’s statement.

• Commitment to participate in all aspects of the grant program, including mentorship and networking events.
