Job Detail: We are seeking a talented poet to submit their work for the prestigious Frontier Poetry Ekphrastic Poetry Prize. The chosen work will need to be ekphrastic in nature, meaning it should be a vivid, dynamic response to a work of art—be it a painting, sculpture, musical piece, or another art form. The goal is to create poetry that expands and enriches the conversation between art forms.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Compose up to three ekphrastic poems, engaging with one or multiple works of art.
  • Ensure that the submission does not exceed a total of five pages.
  • Submit original, unpublished poems for consideration.
  • Follow any specific guidelines provided by Frontier Poetry for submission formatting and delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong grasp of poetic forms, styles, and techniques.
  • Ability to engage with art critically and emotionally through poetry.
  • A portfolio of previous works (published or unpublished) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Openness to editorial feedback if selected.
  • No specific educational background is required; however, a history of literary coursework or workshops may be beneficial.

Compensation:

  • The winning poet will receive a prize of $3,500.
  • The winning work will be published, granting significant exposure and prestige to the poet.
  • Note that there is no entry fee, but poets are responsible for any costs associated with creating and submitting their work.
