Casting Call: Deaf Actor for BBC1’s Waterloo Road
Job Description: We are thrilled to announce an extraordinary opportunity for a Deaf Actor to join the cast of BBC1’s Waterloo Road. We are in search of a young talent between the ages of 13 and 19 to take on the pivotal role of Luca, a profoundly Deaf boy who communicates using British Sign Language (BSL). This is a unique chance for a confident Deaf individual who has a passion for acting or a strong desire to explore this art form. Prior acting experience is not a prerequisite; we welcome candidates with a genuine enthusiasm to learn and grow in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Bring Luca’s character to life with authenticity, depth, and emotion.
- Collaborate with the production team and fellow cast members to create compelling and engaging scenes.
- Be open to direction and guidance from the director and acting coaches.
Requirements:
- Age: 13-19 years old
- Profound Deafness
- Fluent in British Sign Language (BSL)
- Passion for acting (No prior acting experience required)
- Enthusiasm to learn and collaborate within a creative team
- Availability for filming from October 30th, 2023 to June 2024 in Manchester
Compensation:

Vietnamese Male Actor – Non-speaking Role
Job Details: We are casting for a specific non-speaking role in a corporate video project. The video aims to highlight cultural diversity and inclusivity in a professional setting. The selected actor will be key in conveying this message through their presence and demeanor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Portray a Vietnamese male professional aged 30-50 in a corporate environment.
- Follow the director’s guidance and instructions for the scenes.
- Maintain professionalism and punctuality throughout the shooting day.
- Collaborate effectively with the production team and fellow actors.
Requirements:
- Vietnamese male aged between 30-50 years old.
- Must be available for the shoot on either 3rd or 4th October (one-day commitment).
- Previous acting experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Comfortable working in a corporate environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
Compensation: If applicable, the selected actor will receive a competitive compensation package, including payment for the shooting day and potential additional usage fees.
