Tyler Perry Reveals Tour Dates for Madea Farewell Stage play

Date:

In October, Tyler Perry announced he would be saying goodbye to his iconic Madea character, and he’s revealed dates for her final appearances and performances.

Madea’s Farewell Play Tour will start next year in January and will be the Hollywood filmmaker’s 21st play and the end of the Madea franchise.

“I just don’t want to be her age [still] playing her,” he joked during a SiriusXM interview in October.

The character played by Tyler Perry first appeared as a 68-year-old in the 199 stage play I Can Do Bad All by Myself, followed by the play and film Diary of a Mad Black Woman.

Vanity Fair reports Made has appeared in dozens of productions and her movies alone have grossed over $500 million.

Tyler Perry finished filming his last Madea movie with Madea Family Funeral two years ago. The movie is set to premiere in March 2019.
