Austin Nunes

Austin Nunes (he/him) is a film director and queer storyteller. Originally self-taught from a young age, he pursued his passion to Hofstra University's film program for a classic training in film production; from shooting on 16mm film, to acting classes, to real world productions. Today, he continues his passion of telling authentic queer stories of the people in his life. His work is dominated by queer talent both behind and in front of the camera. He strives to not only create a compelling final film, but an experience for everyone that is gratifying, inspiring, and unified. Nunes has recently picture locked a passion project music documentary short film titled "Into The Bloo" that captures drag musician; Lagoona Bloo (David Brumfield) as they prepare for a milestone show and tells us their story of loss and triumph in the intimate confines of their dressing room. Nunes looks forward to a private screening and festival run, while also employing the film as a proof of concept for a mini-series.
