Emerson Henriques

Emerson Henriques A native of Santo Antão, he is a Cabo Verdean actor, dancer, and creative, residing on the island of Sal. With a diverse artistic background, he has experience in theatre, film, directing, and urban dance, establishing himself as a versatile and dynamic performer on the cultural scene. His education includes a degree in Accounting (currently in progress) at ISCEE, complemented by artistic specialisations, such as the theatre course at the Portuguese Cultural Centre of Mindelo in 2015, with a focus on neutral mask, performative theatre, stand-up comedy, and dramaturgy. He also undertook short training programmes in film with Txam Film Productions, 2022 (Boavista) and O Cubo (ACACV), 2021. He has participated in national and international festivals, such as Mindelact, SalEncena, the International Theatre Festival of Portalegre, MOTIM, and dance festivals. He has taken part in prominent theatre productions, including Em Busca das Causas Perdidas (Márcio Meireles, Brazil, 2014), Anatomia do Medo (Graeme Pulleyn, Portugal, 2015), Romeu ma Julieta (Fabiano Muniz, Brazil, 2017), Metamorfose (João Branco, Cabo Verde, 2018), Kastro Krola (Nuno Cardoso, TNSJ, Portugal, 2021), and Outra Tempestade (Carlos Pessoa, Portugal, 2023), among others. In film, he has been part of casts in short and feature-length films, such as Mor (2018), Titio na Areia (2021), and O Poeta da Ilha (2021). Recently, he has also been working as a director, with works such as O Personagem (2023), Diálogo de Um (2024), A Falecida (2024), and Klabedótxe (2025), demonstrating his creative ability beyond performance.
